รายงานข่าวจากบริษัท ทรูมูฟ จำกัด ผู้จำหน่ายมือถือไอโฟน กล่าวว่า บริษัทมียอดจำหน่ายทะลุกว่า 1 แสนเครื่อง จึงมอบของขวัญฉลองเทศกาลส่งท้ายปีเก่าต้อนรับปีใหม่ ด้วยโปรโมชั่นส่วนลดซื้อไอโฟนทุกรุ่น ราคาพิเศษ ตั้งแต่ 24 – 31 ธ.ค.นี้ โดยไอโฟน 3จี 8 กิกะไบต์ ราคาพิเศษ 18,900 บาท จาก 19,900 บาท ไอโฟน 3จีเอส 16 กิกะไบต์ ราคาพิเศษ 22,900 บาท จาก 24,500 บาท และรุ่น 32 กิกะไบต์ ราคาพิเศษ 26,400 บาท จาก 28,500 บาท

ราคาพิเศษดังกล่าวยังไม่รวม ภาษีมูลค่าเพิ่ม และเฉพาะการซื้อแบบชำระเต็มจำนวน พร้อมสมัครเบสิคแพ็คเกจ ค่าบริการเดือนละ 599 บาท นาน 1 ปี

ขณะที่ รีเสิร์ช อิน โมชั่น (อาร์ไอเอ็ม) ผู้ผลิตแบล็คเบอร์รีสมาร์ทโฟน แถลงผลประกอบการไตรมาสที่ 3 ปีงบประมาณ 2553 ตัวเลขกำไรเกินเป้า ด้วยรายได้รวมทั้งสิ้น 3.92 พันล้านดอลลาร์ เพิ่มขึ้น 11% เมื่อเทียบกับรายได้รวมไตรมาสที่ 2 ของปีงบประมาณ 2553 ที่ 3.53 พันล้านดอลลาร์ หรือเพิ่มขึ้น 41% เมื่อเทียบกับไตรมาสเดียวกันในปีที่ผ่านมา ที่ 2.78 พันล้านดอลลาร์

นอกจากนั้น อาร์ไอเอ็มยังประกาศยอดจำหน่ายแบล็คเบอร์รีสมาร์ทโฟนไตรมาสนี้ ประมาณ 10.1 ล้านเครื่อง และถึงปัจจุบัน จำหน่ายแบล็คเบอร์รีสมาร์ทโฟนไปแล้ว 75 ล้านเครื่องทั่วโลก

ไตรมาสที่ 3 มียอดผู้สมัครใช้บริการแบล็คเบอร์รีรายใหม่เพิ่ม 4.4 ล้านราย ทำให้ช่วงปลายไตรมาส มียอดจำนวนผู้สมัครใช้บริการทั่วโลกทั้งหมด 36 ล้านราย

ทั้งนี้ อาร์ไอเอ็มตั้งเป้าผลประกอบการไตรมาสสุดท้าย ประจำปีงบประมาณ 2553 ไว้ประมาณ 4.2 – 4.4 พันล้านดอลลาร์ และคาดการณ์ว่าจะมียอดผู้สมัครใช้บริการแบล็คเบอร์รีรายใหม่อยู่ที่ 4.4 – 4.7 ล้านราย เมื่อสิ้นสุดไตรมาสสุดท้ายเดือน ก.พ.2553
