The Hurt Locker หรือว่ามนุษย์เสพติดสงคราม?

ไม่ว่าจะเป็นชนชาติใด ศาสนาไหน หรือพูดภาษาอะไร ก็ตาม หากเป็นคนที่มีมโนสำนึก รู้สึกผิดชอบชั่วดี ร้อยทั้งร้อย คงทราบอยู่แก่ใจว่า สงคราม มันหมายถึง การห่ำหั่น ทำลายล้าง ที่สร้างความสูญเสียทั้งชีวิต ทรัพย์สิน และจิตใจ ให้แก่ทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้อง แต่หากมองย้อนกลับไปบนหน้าประวัติศาสตร์โลกตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน ก็เป็นเรื่องน่าแปลกอยู่เหมือนกันที่มนุษย์ยังรบราฆ่าฟันกันมาแทบนับครั้งไม่ถ้วน

หรือจะจริงอย่างที่หนังเรื่อง The Hurt Locker เอาข้อความหนึ่งจากหนังสือ War is a Force That Give Us ของ คริส เฮดเจส มาจั่วหัวตั้งแต่เริ่มเรื่องว่า “The rush of battle is often a potent and lethal addiction, for war is a drug.” ซึ่งถ้านำมาตีความกันกว้างๆ (แบบคนภาษาอังกฤษไม่ค่อยแข็งแรงอย่างผม) ก็น่าจะพออนุมานได้ว่า ความรุนแรงเป็นสิ่งเสพติดที่ยากจะต้านทาน สงคราม คือ ยาเสพติด อะไรทำนองนั้น

The Hurt Locker หนังสงครามสุดฮ็อตแห่งปี ซึ่งเป็นผลงานของผู้กำกับหญิงแกร่ง แคธรีน บิเกโลว์ (อดีตศรีภรรยาของ เจมส์ คาเมรอน) เล่าเรื่องของ ทีมกู้ระเบิดประจำกองทัพสหรัฐฯ ซึ่งปฏิบัติงานอยู่ในอิรัก ที่ได้ วิลเลี่ยม เจมส์ (รับบทโดย เจเรมี่ เรนเนอร์) เข้ามาเป็นผู้บังคับบัญชาคนใหม่แทนที่หัวหน้าคนเก่าที่เสียชีวิตขณะปฎิบัต ิหน้าที่ โดยในทีมกู้ระเบิดทีมนี้ยังมีเจ้าหน้าที่อีกสองคนคือ แซนบอร์น กับ เอลดริดจ์ ซึ่งทั้งคู่กำลังปวดหัวกับวิธีการทำงานของ เจมส์ ที่กล้า บ้าบิ่น และแทบจะไม่แคร์กฎหรือข้อปฎิบัติในการทำงานที่วางไว้เลย ก็จะให้ทนไหวได้ยังไง ในเมื่อเจมส์ ทั้ง ปาระเบิดควันระหว่างการทำงาน หรือไม่จู่ๆ ก็ถอดชุดป้องกันตัว และหูฟังสำหรับสื่อสารออกไปซะเฉยๆ เพราะเห็นว่ามันไม่มีประโยชน์ จนอาจพูดได้อย่างเต็มปากว่า เจมส์ ทำงานแบบไม่กลัวตาย แถมยังมองงานที่ตัวเองทำเหมือนการละเล่นสนุกๆ อะไรสักอย่างอีกต่างหาก

อ่านมาถึงตรงนี้ ใครที่ยังไม่ได้ดู อาจจะคิดว่า The Hurt Locker คงจะอุดมไปด้วยฉากระเบิดตูมตาม มีทหารยิงกันตายเกลื่อนกลาด เหมือนกับหนังสงครามทั่วไปที่คนส่วนใหญ่คุ้นเคยกัน ซึ่งถ้าใครคิดแบบนั้นล่ะก็ ขอบอกเลยว่า…ไม่ใช่ เพราะจริงๆ แล้ว The Hurt Locker เป็นหนังที่ต้องการสะท้อนสภาพอันสับสน วุ่นวาย ตึงเครียด อึดอัด และไม่น่าไว้วางใจ ในภาวะสงครามออกมาให้เห็นมากกว่า ทั้งในส่วนของทหารที่สภาพจิตใจย่ำแย่สุดๆ ไปจนถึงปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างทหารและชาวบ้านในพื้นที่ ซึ่งอยู่ในภาวะที่ไม่มีใครไว้ใจใครว่า ทหารคนนี้จะมาช่วยเราจริงมั้ย? หรือชาวบ้านคนนั้นเป็นมือระเบิดฆ่าตัวตายหรือเปล่า? และด้วยวิธีการเล่าเรื่องในโทนที่ขึงขัง จริงจัง บวกกับวิธีการถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวในสไตล์กึ่งๆ สารคดี ก็ยิ่งทำให้ “สาร” เหล่านั้นที่หนังต้องการสื่อออกมาดู สมจริง และ ทรงพลัง มากๆ ถึงแม้ The Hurt Locker จะไม่ได้กระหน่ำคนดูด้วยฉากแอ็คชั่นในจำนวนที่มากมายอะไร แต่ว่าทุกครั้งที่เจมส์ และพรรคพวกออกปฎิบัติภารกิจ ก็ทำให้เราลุ้นระทึกสุดๆ ชนิดหายใจไม่ทั่วท้องเลยทีเดียว

อีกอย่างหนึ่งที่ทำให้ The Hurt Locker โดดเด่นและแตกต่างจากหนังสงครามเรื่องอื่นๆ ที่เราคุ้นเคยก็คือ แทนที่หนังจะให้น้ำหนักหรือชี้นำลงไปว่า ใครดี? ใครเลว? ใครผิด? ใครถูก? ใครคือเหยื่อ? ใครเป็นคนก่อสงคราม? ฯลฯ แต่ The Hurt Locker กลับเลือกจะยืนอยู่ตรงกลาง (ถึงแม้จะยังนำเสนอความเป็นฮีโร่ของอเมริกันชนอีกแล้วก็เถอะ) ไม่ฟันธงลงไปจะๆ ถึงสาเหตุ และผลลัพธ์ที่เกิดขึ้น รวมถึงไม่พยายามยัดเยียดสิ่งต่างๆ ให้คนดูโน้มเอียงไปทางใดทางหนึ่งด้วย แต่หนังทำหน้าที่เหมือนกระจกเงา ซึ่งนำเอาภารกิจของหน่วยกู้ระเบิดกลุ่มหนึ่งมาสะท้อนให้เห็นถึง สภาวะสงคราม ในภาพรวม ได้อย่างลุ่มลึก คมคาย และน่าสะเทือนใจ

โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ช่วงท้ายของเรื่องที่ เจมส์ ได้ กลับมาอยู่บ้านกับลูกกับเมีย แต่ดูเหมือนว่าเขาจะไม่มีความสุขเอาเสียเลย และเขาก็แทบจะเป็นคนแปลกแยกสำหรับครอบครัวด้วยซ้ำ จนในที่สุด เจมส์ ก็ทนกลิ่นอันหอมหวนของสงครามไม่ไว้ เพราะเขา เสพติดสงคราม จนยากเกินกว่าจะถอนตัวซะแล้ว…

* TwitGoo – Now support in-line thumbnails and viewing of TwitGoo images.

* Friend Picker – Fixed a bug where the friend picker would sometimes not show up when pressing ‘@’
* Battery Drain – Fixed a bug where failures to load your friends list would significantly drain the battery.
* Short-cut to Email a Tweet – press ‘z’ to email a tweet!
* Spurious reboots/White Screens – Through painstaking tests with our test group we tracked down the issue that was causing spurious reboots and instability for some users.
* WiFi Only Fix – Fixed a bug where users with no data plan were unable to use the wifi only mode.
* Reply All and underscores – Fixed a bug in reply-all where users with an underscore were not getting copied properly.
* Added Cancel to retweet dialog – Added the option to select ‘cancel’ when being asked whether to use the new or old retweet method.
* Load More on list timelines – Fixed the ‘load more’ button so it actually works at the bottom of list timelines.
* Focus switch to tweet text – Changed the focus to be the tweet text and not the avatar when opening a tweet
* www.twitpic.com URL now supported – Now support www.twitpic.com for preview and image views.
* Inability to delete tweets less than 15 characters – Fixed the bug where you couldn’t delete tweets less than 15 characters.
* Adding account to account list – Fixed bug where adding a new account didn’t immediately show up in the account list.
* BirdNext Proxy Bug – Fixed a bug so that the Bird Next proxy will now work when posting tweets.
* New Style Retweets Truncated – Fixed bug where new style retweets would sometimes be truncated if the original tweet was close to 140 characters.
* Sponsored Content – Changed sponsored content ‘bubbles’ to look different then regular tweets.
* GPS failures – Fixed an issue where the built-in GPS would not be used for location.
* Exceptions when permissions were not granted – Fixed numerous issues which would be triggered if the application didn’t have adequate permissions.

The following changes have been made from 0.960 to 0.963
* TwitLonger confirmation dialog – We have added a dialog confirming that you want to use TwitLonger when sending a tweet.
* Auto network bug fix – Fixed a bug where the AUTO section would not work, but setting to BIS-B would work.
* Mini-indicator icon bug fix – Fixed bug where the mini-indicator icon would not work
* Application Permissions – Specifically asked for the inter-application permission, as not having it makes certain capabilities non-functional.

Part 1: how to setup GV with Gizmo

1. goto »https://www.gizmocall.com/gc/open.html
2. click register and create an account right away.. doesn’t even have to be a valid email address
3. u can login to the flash app right away without validating anything
4. u will see a the dial pad with $0.00 balance. click on the $0.00
5. it will open a new window with buy credits, ignore it and click on ‘My Account’ or ‘MY’ link on the top-right
6. u will see ur new gizmo5 sip number there, copy it, come back to googlevoice and add it in the GV phone settings
7. when u click connect/contact in the GV window, remember the 2 digit code and wait for the call on the gizmo5 flash app window.
8. accept the call, wait 1 sec and then press the 2 digit code on the dial pad.
9. go back to GV page to see ur number being validated and accepted in real time.
10. Next register for an account to obtain a free US phone number with either »www.sipgate.com or »www.ipkall.com to forward your GV account to.(This is now necessary because GV now requires a US based number.)

Part 2: how to signup with ur gv invite from outside usa.

1. download and install. »www.ultrareach.com/downloads/ult···/u95.zip
2. once installed.. use ie browser. check ur ip on the map »www.privacy-gateway.com/whatismyip.html it should be somewhere in usa. u r in.
3. use ur gv invite wisely.

if ur invite says invalid or doesn’t do what its supposed to, use ie browser and the steps below.
1. copy the inv. code link into ur clip board
2. log out of gmail
3. log back into the gmail account u want the number 2b tied to
4. open a new tab and paste the link in ur clipboard.
